On 16 September 1918, she was sailing unescorted from Bilbao, Spain, to Ayr, Scotland, when she was torpedoed without warning at 22:25 by UB-117 11 miles (18 km) southwest of Trevose Head, England, in North Atlantic, position 50°25'N/05°16'W. Of her crew, 25 seafarers, including the captain, lost their lives. The sole survivor was rescued, position 50°25'10''N/05°15'59''W.

Japanese Canadian War Memorial
Japanese Canadian War Memorial, Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia. Inscribed on a nearby plaque: World War I Japanese Canadian War Memorial. This monument is in lasting memory of the 190 who answered the call of duty for Canada and to the 54 who laid down their lives in defence of freedom in the Great War. Their names are engraved on the monument erected, April 2, 1920. A re-lighting of the Memorial to Canadian soldiers of Japanese Ancestry in World War I took place on August 2, 1985. -

Memorial
His name as it is inscribed on the Tower Hill Memorial. The 480 fallen Canadians lost at sea, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
Memorial
The tower Hill Memorial is located in London, England at Tower Hill and across from the Tower of London. This Memorial is dedicated to the 50,700 Commonwealth merchant seamen, fishing fleet workers and other on-board crew lost during the First World War. Included on this list are the 480 Canadians that gave their lives in the cause of the Great War. (J. Stephens)
