Son of Joseph Bourdeau and Rose Anna Bourdeau. Brother of Léo, Jacques, Idola, Florence, Aline and Yvonne.

Enlisted at Durham, Missisquoi, he was sent to Camp Valcartier. He was transferred to the 3rd Battalion from 23 January to 28 April 1952, and to the 2nd Battalion from 29 April to 22 May 1952. Posted to the 1st Battalion, B Company, on 8 July 1952, he was killed in action by Chinese artillery defending a front that stretched between the destroyed villages of Paujol-gol and Kojanhari-saemal. During the night of the 5th to the 6th, the Royal 22e Régiment received a shower of 400 shells raining down on B and C Companies, killing four men and wounding five others.

UNITED NATIONS CEMETERY (BUSAN) South Korea

The United Nations Cemetery is located in Tanggok, a suburb of Busan. The land for the cemetery was granted to the United Nations by the Republic of Korea as a tribute to all those who had laid down their lives in combatting aggression and in upholding peace and freedom. There are 2,267 servicemen buried in the United Nations Memorial Cemetery. Of these 1,538 were Commonwealth soldiers, including 376 Canadians.
