Son of the deceased parents Joseph and Rachel Thistle. Brother of Chesley, Gordon, Glen and Doris. Husband of Ina (nee Bailey) Thistle of Conception Bay, Newfoundland and father twin daughters, Doreen and Eileen and Anthony, his son who was born after his death.
Commemorated on the Wall of Remembrance, Canoe River Memorial, Korean War Cairn and Canoe River Monument.
