Son of Harold Barnes and Ellen Edith Smith. Husband of Vola Elvira Fulmer. Father of two children.
Veteran of the Second World War as a merchant seaman.
He died of a fractured skull on December 19, 1945, when he fell through an opening on the Champlain Park docked in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He died on the 21st.
