Additional information

Son of Aron William Melman (aka Mailman) and Sophie Meldium of Nova Scotia. Husband of Emily Maxine Neal from Maine.


During the First World War, he enlisted on 15 February 1918 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with the Nova Scotia Regiment, regimental number 4050179. Often hospitalized, he was transferred to the 6th Canadian Army Service Corps and deserted. On 27 June 1919, in Halifax, he was demobilized. He died on 4 August 1941 of thermal prostration aboard the Liverpool Rover off Mulberry Point, James River, Virginia.
