Baptized Joseph-Armand-Edgar Beauvais. Son of Damase Beauvais and Wilhelmine Hébert, of Granby, Québec. He stated being born in 1893 when he enlisted.

On 30 April 1917 he went to the front line in the Vimy sector, Pas-de-Calais, France. On 13 May 1917, he was mortally wounded in action during the Battle of Fresnoy, France. He died later that day.
