He was baptized Lorenza-Domina Brossoit, son of Louis Brossoit (deceased in 1904) and Philomène Legros (who remarried to Joseph Sauvé in 1907).

He previously served with the 64th Regiment from 1913 to 1916. Enlisted in the 206th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he was sent to Bermuda with the 163rd Battalion. Arriving in England on 6 December 1916, he was posted to the 206th Battery of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. On 15 May 1917, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion and sent to France the same day. Initially reported missing, on 3 June 1918 he was recognised as having been killed in action on 25 May 1918 east of Boisleux-Saint-Marc, Pas-de-Calais.
