Photo of George Dennis
Private Dennis enlisted at Saskatoon on January 11, 1916. He sailed to England on the S.S. Empress of Britain on June 20, 1916 and arrived in England on June 28, 1916 and sent to Bramshott. He joined his unit (Seaforth Highlanders, 4th Division, 12th Brigade, 72nd Battalion)on December 16, 1916 after a stay in the hospital. He was reported missing in action on March 4, 1917 and presumed to have died on or about March 1, 1917. He was the son of Violet and Newman Dennis of Burgessville, Ontario. -
Memorial
His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
