Baptized Joseph-Euclide-Arthur Forget. Son of Joseph Forget and Flora Delisle, of Lachine (Montréal), Québec.

He had previously served for three years with the 65th Mont-Royal Carabiniers Regiment. He enlisted on October 21, 1914, with the 23rd Reserve Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. On May 20, 1915, he sailed for Great Britain and landed on the 29th in Plymouth, England. On November 8, he landed in Boulogne, Pas-de-Calais, France, with the 22nd Battalion. He was wounded on November 8, 1915, in the shoulder and right elbow. He was evacuated to England on the 14th. On March 15, 1916, he returned to the 22nd Battalion and went back to France on the 17th. On the 19th, he was on the front line. On June 17, 1916, he was wounded in combat in his left foot. He was reported missing between September 14 and 18, 1916, in the Brickfields sector during the Battle of Courcelette. On October 23, he was recognized as having been killed in action on the 16th. His body was never found.
