Post Card
Postcard sent home by Pte. Cyril Palmer to his parents in Gravenhurst. He provides his mailing address at Niagara Camp (a training camp). The front of the card is a view of a local church. The postage stamp used is an early example of the use of a 2 cent stamp (1 cent stamp plus 1 cent war tax). The cancellation is for the Field Post Office at Niagara Camp. Private Collection - M. I. His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial (2010). Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
