Private James Ward (27), late of Bury, of the Canadian Contingent, was killed in France on September 17th 1916. Previous to the war, he had been in Canada five years, and had been connected with Brunswick Church and School, his name being on the roll of honour there. ('Bury Times' Memorial Book Obituary) -
Memorial
His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
