Reverse of Pte E. S. (Ted) Jennings of Bethune, Saskatchewan (originally homestead on SE 24-21-25 W2, just east of Findlater, SK). His brother, #877 Pte S.H. Jennings witnessed his death: "My brother Ted said to me, 'You make the tea, and I'll stand lookout for you.' A few minutes later he fell down against me, dead, after having been hit in the head by an exploding bullet. After dark we buried him behind the trench" * *fr Regimental Archives and cited in "With the Patricia's in Flanders 1914-1918 Then & Now" by Stephen K. Newman. Newman's book also has a picture of Pte. E.S. (Ted) Jennings. -
