Baptized Joseph-Théophile Ladouceur. Son of Jean-Baptiste Ladouceur and Émilie Charron, of Ottawa, Ontario.
On November 11, 1917, he enlisted in Toronto, Ontario, in the 1st Central Ontario Regiment, service number 3232783, of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He was placed on standby for 122 days before being recalled and officially enlisted on March 12, 1918, with the same unit with the same service number. On April 8, he sailed for Great Britain and landed in Liverpool, England, on the 19th.
On May 30, he was assigned to the 10th Reserve Battalion; on September 4, to the 23rd Reserve Battalion; and, on the same day, to the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles. On September 12, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion and crossed over to France. He joined his new unit in combat at Tilloy, Pas-de-Calais.
On October 12th, 1918, east of Tilloy, he was hit by shrapnel in the chest, leg and arm and died of his wounds ten days later at Wounded Man's Triage Post No. 33 at Boisleux-au-Mont.

BUCQUOY ROAD CEMETERY is situated on the D919 heading south from Arras to Ayette. The Cemetery is on the right hand side of the road, 9 kilometres from Arras, just before a crossroads with the D36 between Ficheux and Boisleux-au-Mont.
