Cemetery – Photo of Durnbach cemetery (CWGC) F/O Francis Edward "Eddie" Good was Navigator on Lancaster ME 802, 90 (RAF) Sqdn. His brother, F/O Harold Robert Good was Navigator on Lancaster PA 989 in 626 (RAF) Sqdn. They were the sons of Mr. & Mrs. Edward Good of Red Deer, AB. On the 1916 census for Red Deer, Alberta, there is Edward and his wife Martha with children Walter age 5; Francis E. age 4; Harold R. age 2; and sister Kathleen 1 month. On the night of August 25/26, 1944, both brothers were on the same raid to Russelsheim, Germany. Tragically both were lost. Crash and crew information was found on www.lostbombers.co.uk F/O Eddie Good was airborne 4 minutes before his brother. Lancaster ME 802, #90 (RAF) Sqdn, was airborne 2023 25 Aug 44 from RAF Tuddenham. Crew consisted of RCAF P/O W. J. Hope DFC, age 20, from Ottawa; and RAF crew members: S/L H. P. Lee-Warner DFC AFC, age 31; P/O H. Wilson; Sgt's J. S. Holdcroft and M. Kieff; and F/S J. R. Court of the RNZAF. His brother’s aircraft, Lancaster PA 989 of #626 (RAF) Sqdn was airborne 2027 25 Aug 44 from RAF Wickenby. Cause of loss and crash-site not established. The crew consisted of RCAF F/O Good and P/O (WAG) Jas. A. Perdue, age 21, from Edmonton; also RAF Sgt A. G. Kerr. Four crew members survived the crash and were taken Prisoners of War. They were: RCAF F/O's J. T. Farrell and R. L. Harris, and RAF Sgt's J. Keil and A. Loveridge.
