Trouper Somerville joined the Royal Montreal Regiment at the start of WWII and went overseas in December of 1939. While overseas, he was transferred to the 28th (BC) armoured regiment. He was the son of Elizabeth and John Somerville of Verdun, Montreal, Quebec.
