Burial/memorial information
Son of Clarence Leslie and Margaret A. Watt, of Merrickville, Ontario. Brother of Flying Officer Norman Watt, who served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, died on July 1, 1943.
He lost two uncles, Private William Lloyd Watt and Private Richard Norman Watt in the First World War.

Serving on the Committee were Jack Jessop, Past President of Legion Branch 245; Joyce McKay, who lost a brother in the Second World War; Peter McKenna, Executive Director of Merrickville and District Community Health Centre; and Jack Wilcox, who upon discharge from the Canadian Army in 1945, prepared the Sydney Academy Memorial Booklet honouring the students of the Academy who gave their lives in the Second World War.

#2 Missing Research & Enquiry Unit Report pg 1
This is page 1 of a report by the RAF casualty search units that traced down the missing air crew from WWII. It contains all of the facts that they had managed to gather to that point in time. This information was found during the research of one of his crew, the Air Bomber Bill Fetherston

#2 Missing Research & Enquiry Unit Report pg 2
This page states that the searchers actually saw the remains of the aircraft and identified it as a Lancaster with the number NN 758 on it. They found that there had been a survivor of the crew (Bellisle) though they did not know his name as yet. They took action to register the grave for the graves concentration units that were to follow.

This is the Air Ministry report on the aircraft found just north of Laichingen, Germany. It identifies Watts aircraft by Roundel numbers, aircraft part serial numbers etc. This is F/O Watts aircraft.

DURNBACH WAR CEMETERY Germany
Durnbach is a village 16 kilometres east of Bad Tolz, a town 48 kilometres south of Munich. Durnbach War Cemetery is 3 kilometres north of the village Gmund am Tegernsee. Using the A8 from Munich, turn off at the junction Holzkirchen, taking the 318 road in the direction of Gmund am Tegernsee. At the crossroads with the 472, turn left in the direction of Miesbach. The cemetery is situated approximately 500 metres on the left from the 318/472 crossroads.
