Son of Harry Porteous Charlton and Marie Pauline Conger. Husband of Marie Jacqueline Emery. Father of Robert Michael Charlton.
He was a private, service number 4051, in the Algonquin Rifles Regiment, 3rd Company – NPAM – in North Bay, Ontario, from March 31, 1938 to June 13, 1940.
1939-1945 Star, France-Germany Star, Defense Medal, General Service Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, operational wings.
