Son of Alexandre Doucet and Caroline Brun of Jardineville, Kent, New Brunswick. Brother of soldiers George, Albert and Howard Doucett, who fought in Europe during the Second World War. They survived the conflict.
Enrolled in the Carleton and York Regiment in New Brunswick, served in Nova Scotia, transferred on November 28th, 1940 to the 1st Battalion Royal Rifles of Canada, served in Québec, Newfoundland with W Force, Hong Kong with C Force, Japan as a prisoner of war. He had 1,356 days of service, including 831 overseas.

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
