  • Letter– File copy of a letter to L/Stwd Stuart's wife, Dorothy Stuart, from the Naval Secretary, providing some details of L/Stwd Stuart's death and the findings of the naval Board of Inquiry. Notably, higher authority within the Department of National Defence subsequently reviewed the Board of Inquiry's findings and significantly disagreed with those findings. • Letter– File copy of a letter to the commanding officer of HMCS UGANDA from the Naval Secretary, informing the ship's CO that the Department of National Defence did not concur with several of the findings made by the Board of Inquiry into L/Stwd Stuart's death. The Board's findings obviously had been critically reviewed by higher authority within the Department of National Defence in a genuine and meaningful - rather than perfunctory - manner. • Newspaper Clipping– An item that appeared on page 11 in the January 1955 issue of the Crowsnest, the Royal Canadian Navy's magazine. (Submitted by Navy League Cadet Corps CHAMBLY, Barrie, Ontario.)
