Cemetery – From www.lostbombers.co.uk W1233 was one of four 78 Sqdn Halifaxes lost on this operation.to Mainz. The aircraft was airborne 2139 11Aug42 from Middleton St.George. Cause of loss not established. Crashed into the sea. P/O Myrick was buried 27Sep42 in Esbjerg (Fourfelt) Cemetery, Denmark. The others have no known graves. On 9 Feb 45, P/O Myrick's brother, P/O P.R.Myrick was shot down over Fede Fjord flying a Beaufighter of 404 Sqdn on 9 Feb. 1945. From www.flensted.eu.com Air War Over Denmark: On 27/9 Air Gnr. P/O John F. Myrick was laid to rest in Fovrfelt cemetery, Esbjerg together with an unknown Englishman. One of them was found drifted ashore at Aaberg Forstrand beach near Husby klit on 20/9. The remainder of the crew are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. They are: Pilot F/S John Fleetwood-May, RAF Flt Engr. F/S Francis N.
