  • Newspaper Clipping 2– Newspaper Memorial Notice - This notice conflicts with Pte. Morris' attestation where he states that he was born in Staffordshire in 1886. However, his attestation states that his sister was Mrs. Etherington (Winnifred A.). Due to the vast amount of casualties during this time frame (Courcelette), the newspaper had to deal with several full pages of casualties and biographies on a daily basis and there are numerous editing errors. Morris indicated that he was a labourer.
