The original pictures were supplied by the Sydney Post-Record and the booklet was compiled by Jack Wilcox, class of 1946 and Donald Trivett, class of 1947. Additional Information courtesy of Floyd Williston: P/O Curdis Karrel, age 23, bomb aimer in 431 (Iroquois) Squadron Halifax LK 833, was killed on July 29, 1944, when he was shot down at Quarnstedt, during a raid on Hamburg, Germany. Two other Halifax bombers from Karrel's squadron were shot down in the same area. Originally, all crew members, including P/O Karel, were buried near the site of the crash, but post-war, they were re-buried in the Kiel War cemetery, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
