Additional information
Son of Maurice Bourgouin and Marie Anne (aka Annette) Lemieux from Montréal, Québec. Husband of Lilianne Leclerc from Montréal, Father of Normand Bourgouin.

Enlisted in the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps, he became an instructor in Quebec and Ontario. Promoted to corporal on 1 July 1943, he was posted to the Italian theatre of operations on 3 May 1944. On 9 June, he was transferred to the Royal 22e Régiment. He took part in the fighting at Borgo Santa Maria and Hill 131. He was killed in action on 1 September 1944 during the capture of Mount Luro. He was buried on the 2nd in Pesaro, grave 10, before being exhumed and reburied in Montecchio War Cemetery, Italy.
