Son of John and Margaret Lefurgey. Husband of Katererine Lefurgey, of Summerside, Prince Edward Island.

He died when the pilot of Wellington aircraft #W 5589 attempted a forced landing with one engine on fire and crashed at the Strenshall Military Camp, Strenshall, England. Flight Sergeants S. Wityck and W.A. Robertson, and Sergeant J.B. Gayfer were also killed.
