This is a picture of John Charles William Hope being given his "wings" from his father John Charles Hope.

Here is Bill's squadron. He is the snappy confident pilot in the centre - what a difference to the man getting his wings. This must be shortly before his death. He took up the first Typhoon - must have been a crack pilot but it killed him as many early versions did others
