Baptized François Langlois. Son of Aimé Langlois (deceased in 1897) and Louise Collin (remarried in 1909 to François Deraiche and deceased in 1916), of Port-Daniel, Gaspé, Québec.
He declared his first name as "Frank" and was born on December 14th, 1894, when he enlisted. He is listed as "Frank" in the Book of Remembrance.
Following the death of his mother he had named his uncle and adoptive father, François "Frank" Deraiche, as his next of kin and heir.

Aix-Noulette is a village in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, about 13 kilometres south of Bethune on the main road to Arras. From Arras take the D937 towards Bethune. At Aix-Noulette, turn right at the church. The AIX-NOULETTE COMMUNAL CEMETERY and EXTENSION are a few hundred metres on the left side of the road to Bully-Grenay.
