This is the cemetery in France where my uncle is buried. I had the privilege of visiting it last year. It was a very moving experience. I was very impressed with how well the cemetery is maintained

The man in the left of the photo is my uncle, Sidney Taylor. The man on the right is his friend Harry Stevens also of the St Marys area.

Military Medal. On the obverse is the inscription "For Bravery In The Field" The medal on the right has the years 1914 1918 on the obverse.

There are two military cemeteries in the village of Cerisy. This one, where Sidney Taylor is buried is designated by the Roman Numeral II

CERISY-GAILLY MILITARY CEMETERY Somme, France
Cerisy is a village 11 kilometres south of Albert, 2 kilometres east of the main road from Albert to Moreuil. The CERISY-GAILLY MILITARY CEMETERY is on the west side of the village on the road to Gailly and Le Hamel and the French National Cemetery is on the south side of this.
