Son of George and Mary Baran of Hamilton, Ontario. Brother of Genic, Roman, Cpl C.G. Baran, Lillian, Emelia Mary and Olga. Husband of Elsa Kathleen (nee Bergstrom) of Hamilton, Ontario. Pilot Officer Baran also served with the Royal Flying Corps.

Location:

Amersfoort is a town lying 50 kilometres south-east of Amsterdam, and 22 kilometres north-east of Utrecht. The Amersfoort (Oud Leusden) General Cemetery is about 2.5 kilometres from the railway station, in an area known as Oud Leusden. The graves are in a special plot, well sited among trees.
