Son of Charles Achille Cauchy and Marie Paule Germaine Blouin of Levis, Quebec.
Was an army reservist – NPAM – for two years, then signalman with the 59th Heavy Battery of the Royal Canadian Artillery from 1938 to 1939 in Petawawa, Ontario, and in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
He served in Canada and Great Britain. He had 693 days of service, including 309 overseas

Amersfoort is a town lying 50 kilometres south-east of Amsterdam, and 22 kilometres north-east of Utrecht. The Amersfoort (Oud Leusden) General Cemetery is about 2.5 kilometres from the railway station, in an area known as Oud Leusden. The graves are in a special plot, well sited among trees.
