Son of Edward and Ellen Gerow; husband of Rosina Gerow (nee Della-Picca), of White River, Ontario. Cpl Gerow joined the Rocky Mountain Rangers and had been stationed at British Columbia. When he joined Active Service, he was sent to Toronto to wait overseas duty. He and his family stayed with his sister Doris (Gerow) Hewson and her family and he reported to barracks each day. He left Canada in June 1944. When he arrived in Great Britain, he was transferred to the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. He was wounded twice and killed on October 18, 1944 at Woensdrecht, Holland. His widow and 2 children live in Ontario.
