John Albert Buckley was born in Southampton Ontario on December 11th, 1886. He is remembered on the Southampton Cenotaph. He enlisted in the CEF on June 12th, 1915 in Calgary. The Southampton Cenotaph includes plaques with the names of men from World Wars 1 & 2. The WWI list is inscribed: "In grateful remembrance of the men of Southampton who fought and died in the Great War".
Southampton is in Bruce County, Ontario and is the oldest port on the Bruce Coast. This photograph was taken by Mr. Clive Freeman in the summer of 2002.

A Canadian flag and a Canadian coin placed at the grave marker of John Albert Buckley in February 2019. This was left by his great grandnephew on behalf of the entire Buckley family.

ORCHARD DUMP CEMETERY Pas de Calais, France
Orchard Dump Cemetery is in the village of Arleux-en-Gohelle, on the main road (D919) from Arras to Henin-Lietard. The cemetery lies on the left side of this road approximately 1 kilometre from the village of Bailleul-Sire-Berthoult.
