P/O Pepper was killed Dec. 17, 1941 when Anson aircraft N9842 crashed during a training flight at #2 Air Observer School, Millom near Haverigg.
Also killed was P/O (OB) Owen Crump who is buried in the Rippleside Cemetery, Barking, Essex, Eng. and Sgt. (P) Wm. J. Peggie who is buried in the Abbotshall Churchyard Cemetery, Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire, Scotland.
