Son of George Deroin Charbonneau and Anna Clare Bélanger, of Calabogie, Ontario.
Under the NMRA of 1940, he received the preliminaries of a thirty-day basic training as a private in the Lanark & ??Renfrew Scottish Regiment, registration number C-417280, at camp number 30 in Brockville, Ontario.
He served in Canada and Great Britain. He died accidentally during a night training day.
He had 448 days of service, including 147 overseas.
Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-1945, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and clasp.
