Son of Alexander Francis McLellan and Mary Jane Thomblison, of Winnipeg, Manitoba.


Brother of Sergeant William James McLellan, regimental number H-51713, and Private Florence Elsie MacLellan, who served in the Netherlands, uncle of Pilot Officer Donald Arthur McAmmond, who served in Europe with the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. They survived the war.


To commemorate his sacrifice, the Manitoba government named McLellan Island located on Lake Amiskoskotim in his honor in 1994.

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY Japan

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
