  • Photo of Edwin James Desperques– Photo about 1914. Edwin James Desperques, known as "Ted", after fighting in WWI, was on his way back to Canada, by ship, to muster out. He had not only seen the horrors of war but lost his only child by death. Ted jumped overboard and his body was never found. His parents were Edwin James Desperques and Ellen Goman, of St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands. His wife was Eva Hannah Barbara Byard.
