His real name is Joseph-Laurent-Alphonse Morin. Joseph Bergeron is an alias under which he enrolled and served.


Son of Laurent Morin and Hermine Boissonnault (who respectively died in 1912 and 1907).


His godfather and godmother, Ferdinand Tanguay and Malvina Boissonnault lived in St-François-de-Montmagny, Québec.

Seriously wounded in action on 16 June 1916 during the Battle of Zillebeke, near Ypres, Belgium, he was evacuated to England and died of his wounds and tetanus on 11 July 1916 at Endell Station Hospital in central London, England.

He is commemorated on page 53 of the First World War Book of Remembrance under his alias.
