Father of Lillian, Mabel, Gertrude and Helen, Lance Corporal David Henry Alexander Stewart, Royal Hamilton Light Infantry, killed in action 25 July 1944 and Gunner George Irwin Stewart, Royal Canadian Artillery, killed in action 21 July 1944.

Sergeant David Dudley Stewart was a First World War Veteran, enlisting in Toronto on 21 December 1915.
