Husband of Victorine Harnois (married in 1904), of St-Hyacinthe, Québec. He was father of four children in the 1911 census. He stated being born on 15 April 1880 when he enlisted.
He had previously served in the 84th Regiment. Declared a deserter from 1 December 1915 to the 20th, he was sentenced to 14 days' detention on the 27th. Enlisted on 15 January 1916, he was transferred from the 69th Reserve Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force to the 22nd Battalion on 5 October 1916. He took part in the battles of Bully-Grenay, Lens and the Angres trenches, all in the Pas-de-Calais. He was killed in action on 9 April 1917 on Vimy Ridge, France, in the area of the Souchez and Scarpe rivers.
