Additional information
Son of J.J. Barnard of London, England. After the battle on 9 April, the 15th Battalion Vimy Cross was built with the names of about sixty soldiers from the battalion who were killed in the battle. Today the cross, with Corporal Arthur Barnard's name clearly seen at the exact centre is kept at the 48th Highlanders (15 Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force) museum at St. Andrew's Church in Toronto, Ontario.

NINE ELMS MILITARY CEMETERY (France) Pas de Calais, France

Thelus is a village about 6.5 kilometres north of Arras and 1 kilometre east of the main road from Arras to Lens. The NINE ELMS MILITARY CEMETERY is on the western side of the main road and about 1.5 kilometres south of the village.
