Burial/memorial information
On 10 August 1917, the War Patrol was sailing one mile (1.5 km) west of Penmarc'h, in the Bay of Biscay, Brittany, France, when it hit a mine laid by UC-69, position 47°48'N/04°25'W. The captain and 12 crew members were killed. The 12 survivors were rescued by the French warship Taureau.
