Baptized Joseph Euchariste Dunn. Son of Jean-Baptiste Dunn (deceased in 1909) and Marie Cloutier (deceased in 1913), of Rivière-au-Renard. He stated being born on the 21st when he enlisted and named as next of kin his brother Odilon, of Rivière-au-Renard and of Nakusp, Kootenay West, British Columbia. Odilon also served with the Canadien Expeditionary Corps (service number 442372 from 1915 to 1919.
Enlisted in the 41st Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he embarked from Montreal, Quebec, on Enlisted in the 189th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he embarked on September 23, 1916, for Great Britain and arrived in Liverpool on October 6. Upon arrival, he was assigned to the 69th Reserve Battalion and, on January 4, 1917, to the 10th Reserve Battalion. Transferred to the 22nd Battalion on April 17, 1917, he crossed into France on the 18th and went to the front line on the 30th.
His battalion was in a rest area in Marqueffles and Euchariste was killed by a shell while he was on fatigue duty in a support trench at Liévin during the battle of Lens, Pas-de-Calais.
Brother of Private Adélard Dunn, 417169, who also died in action on 28 mai 1918 fighting with the 22e Battalion at Mercatel, France, and Odilon Dunn, who served with the Canadian Expeditionary Corps (service number 442372), from 1915 to 1919. and Odilon Dunn, who served with the Canadian Expeditionary Corps (service number 442372), from 1915 to 1919.

BULLY-GRENAY COMMUNAL CEMETERY, BRITISH EXTENSION Pas de Calais, France
Bully is approximately 20 kilometres north of Arras. From Arras, take the D937 towards Bethune. At Sains-en-Gohelle, turn right onto the D166E towards Bully. At the first (Casimir Beugret) roundabout, turn right into the Rue Ferdinand Marche. The Cemetery (known locally as the 'Cimetiere de Bully-les-Mines') is 200 metres down this road on the right. The Commonwealth war graves plot is reached via 'Allee 8'.
