Son of Donald McKechnie and Barbara Munn, of Walkerton, Bruce, Ontario. He was the doctor of the 179th Battalion, from his enrolment until the unit’s arrival in England in October 1916. He served at the front, from March 1917 until he died, with the 6th Canadian Field Ambulance.
