Burial/memorial information
On 31 August 1917, Miniota was torpedoed by U-19 30 miles (48 km) south-east of Start Point, England, and north-west of St. Peter Port, Bailiwick of Guernsey, position 49°50'N/03°00'W. Remaining afloat, it was towed by HMS Sandfly (H87) before sinking by the bow. Four sailors lost their lives in the attack.
