Additional information
On 10 June 1917, the Scottish Hero was en route from Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, to Le Havre, Normandy, France, when she was boarded and sunk by gunfire by U-155 440 miles (708 km) south-west of Fastnet Rock, a lighthouse island located south-east of Ireland, position 46°59'N/18°12'W. Only Yong lost his life.
