Born in Liverpool England on Jan. 24th 1877.  Husband of Margaret Carson of Vancouver BC. James enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on July 7th 1916, he listed prior military service of 3 years in the Transport service in South Africa. He listed his occupation as "Cook"  James died at Vancouver Bc on Aug. 9th 1917 at the age of 40. He was laid to rest in Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC.
