Grave of 443698 Pvt. Robert Jewell Morris Hirschfield who served with the 54th Battn. C.E.F. Born in the town of Perry Hill Gilford Kent England on May. 7th 1878. Husband of Mary Jane Hirschfield of Vancouver BC, Robert enlisted into the 54th Battn. C.E.F. for the first time at Vernon Camp BC on Aug. 28th 1915 listing his occupation as "Clerk & Book Keeper" He was discharged due to lameness in his right foot & knee on Jan. 17th 1918. He re-enlisted at Shaughnessy Military Hospital into the Canadian Army Medical Corps to serve in Canada only doing "Clerial work" on Nov. 28th 1918. Robert died in Vancouver BC on Oct. 22nd 1919 at the age of 41. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC.
