He was born at Lot 64 Prince Edward Island on June 28th 1879.  Alex enlisted into the C.E.F. at Rossland BC on June 21st 1916, he listed his occupation as "Bridgeman"  Alex died at Vancouver BC on May 10th 1918 at the age of 39 and was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC.
