Son of David Godin (deceased in 1908) and Aglaé Hénault, of St-Cléophas-de-Brandon, Joliette, Québec.

He stated being born in St-Cléophas-de-Brandon when he enlisted.

Severely wounded to an arm on September 24, 1915 and released on January 15, 1917.

He reenrolled on January 11, 1918 and he died of pneumonia two months later.
