Son of Philias Létourneau (deceased in 1896) and Caroline Carpentier (remarried in 1898 to François-Xavier Viger), of Québec (St-Sauveur), Québec.
He died of typhoid fever at the St-Jean military camp and was buried in the local cemetery. His grave has since disappeared and he is now commemorated on a special monument to that effect, The Québec Memorial, at the Pointe-Claire Field of Honor.
