Grave marker – Captain Palling's grave marker in St. Paul's Innisfil Cemetery, just outside Barrie, Ontario. It (the grave marker) appeared, in 2015, to be a relatively new replacement stone. A personal message is near the bottom: "HE HATH DONE WHAT HE COULD." (Image taken by Gregory J. Barker of Barrie, Ontario, in 2015.)

Attestation Papers – Officer's Declaration Paper signed by Capt Palling. Although the typewriter's print is somewhat unclear, this form indicates that Capt Palling was born in the Township of Medonte [which now, in 2015, is part of the Township of Oro-Medonte] in the County of Simcoe [Ontario]. Interestingly, Capt Palling appears to have also signed, as medical officer, his own Certificate of Medical Examination.
